Welcome to BSO Zomerland Dependance by gro-up, located at Laning 3 in Puttershoek. Our dependance is specially designed for children aged 7 to 12 and offers a familiar place where children can relax, play and discover after school. We are part of gro-up childcare, an organisation that has been active in South Holland and Utrecht for more than 30 years and believes in the power of development through play and discovery.
Our location consists of one core group with a maximum of 24 children. We work with a permanent team of pedagogical staff who know the children well and guide them in their development. The children use the canteen area and half a sports hall for free play and activities. We offer a varied range of development-oriented activities, such as sports and games in the sports hall, creative activities and outings to the natural playground or the Zomerplein.
BSO Zomerland Dependance is open during school weeks on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm. On Wednesday and Friday, during study days and holidays, the children are cared for at our main location BSO Zomerland, which is open from 7.00 am to 6.30 pm. We pick up the children from primary schools Het Driespan and De Schelp. The pedagogical staff stand at a fixed spot near the school and walk to the BSO in a line with the children. Children who are allowed to walk independently report first and then go to the location in a group.
We believe it is important that children feel safe and secure. That is why we work with a fixed structure and clear agreements. Upon arrival, the children put away their coats and bags, go to the toilet and wash their hands. Then there is time for a healthy snack and drink. We give children the space to choose whether to participate in an activity or play freely. We encourage social development by teaching children to take each other into account and to work together.
Parents are important partners for us. We work with the gro-up parent portal, where parents can safely follow their child's experiences via an app. Parents can also use the app to report their child absent if they are not present for a day. We organise an annual meeting for parents and children to get to know each other and increase mutual involvement.Read more
