De Zuidwestertjes

Preschool De Zuidwestertjes is located within primary school De Zuidwester at Marterrade 312 in The Hague. We provide toddler care for children aged 2.5 to 4 years. Our approach is learning through play: children develop social, motor and cognitive skills by playing together, doing crafts, singing, puzzling and playing outside. We use themes such as the seasons to help children learn about the world around them. Our preschool works with fixed staff and fixed groups to provide structure and trust. We use the VVE program (preschool and early childhood education) to stimulate language, social skills and emotional development. Additionally, we track each child's development using the KIJK! child monitoring system, which we also use during parent meetings to keep parents informed of their child's progress. A morning or afternoon starts with a play-in period where parents can join the group. Then various activities take place, sometimes with the whole group, sometimes in small groups. We end with a handover to parents. We are open Monday to Thursday from 08:15-11:30 and 12:30-15:45, and Friday from 08:15-11:15 and 12:30-15:30 during school weeks.
