De Spil Staddijk

Welcome to after-school care De Spil Staddijk, part of KION childcare in Nijmegen-West. Our location is housed in the cozy clubhouse of the hockey club at Staddijk 29, just one kilometer from primary school De Spil. Children walk to our location under the guidance of our pedagogical staff. At BSO De Spil Staddijk we welcome a maximum of 20 children per day. We are only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays and specifically focus on the oldest children from 8 years and up. Our activities are mainly focused on sports and games, making use of the extensive sports fields of the hockey club. In addition, there is plenty of greenery around the sports park, allowing children to discover nature and enjoy exploring. When the children arrive, drinks and fruit are ready. Afterwards they can choose: participate in an activity or play freely. We offer a broad and diverse range of activities covering different developmental areas. Think of craft activities for fine motor skills, outdoor play for gross motor skills and board games that focus on cooperation, taking turns and dealing with loss. Unique to our location is the children's council. Children can share their ideas about the layout, materials and activities here. We have a suggestion box and help children write down and formulate their ideas, so they feel heard. Our professional pedagogical staff are ready every day to provide children with a safe and challenging environment. We work with familiar faces to create a bond of trust. During school holidays we are open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
