De Toverboom

Welcome to De Toverboom, our small-scale daycare center located at De Ruiting 2c in the beautiful rural area of Esch. We provide care for up to 54 children aged 0 to 4 years, divided into two vertical groups with a maximum of 12 children per group. By consciously choosing small groups and deploying extra staff when needed, we ensure peace and can truly provide what your child needs. For our youngest ones, we have a separate baby group with a maximum of 10 children from 6 weeks to approximately 1.5 years old. Peace and regularity are central here: fixed caregivers on fixed days, a clear daily routine, and plenty of quiet moments during bottle feeding, playing, and cuddling. We take ample time to get to know you and your child during a personal intake interview and practice morning. In our vertical groups (0-4 years), young children learn from older children and the older ones develop their caring side. We involve the children in household chores such as baking bread, harvesting from our vegetable garden, sweeping the garden, and hanging laundry, all in an atmosphere that reflects family life. Our outdoor space is larger than our indoor space. Every day, children can enjoy playing outside: cycling, football, sliding, swinging, or playing in our garden house. We even have our own animal meadow in the garden where children can care for animals and learn about nature. Our pedagogical policy is inspired by the insights of educators such as Alfie Kohn, Rudolf Steiner, Maria Montessori, and Emmi Pikler. We believe that every child is unique and develops at their own pace. By working with natural materials, organic products, and neutral play materials, we create an environment where children can develop freely. De Toverboom is open Monday through Friday from 07:00 to 19:00, all year round except for national holidays.
