De Stuurhut

Peuterspeelzaal De Stuurhut is part of Stichting Peuterspeelzalen Roodehaan and located inside the Jokidé building at Zuiderkade 7 in Emmeloord. We provide toddler care and pre-school education (VE) for children from 2 years of age. Our pedagogical staff follow an annual policy plan and focus strongly on the young child’s world of experience. The day starts in a circle where we go through the day together: we look at the weather, learn to tell the time and discuss what will happen. Children with a VE indication can already join us from 2.5 years for extra language or developmental support. We work in one vertical group where children from regular toddler care and pre-school education play together and learn from each other. We share the outdoor space with day-care centre De Kadesnuiters, which is housed in the same building. During school holidays there is no toddler care; parents can then use the holiday care provided by De Kadesnuiters. We use the online observation system Parnassus and maintain direct contact with primary schools to ensure a smooth transition.
