De Sterrenhoeve

De Sterrenhoeve is a green toddler day-care centre located in the former petting-zoo building in the Krakeel district of Hoogeveen. Outdoor play is at the heart of everything we do: children spend 80 % of their time outside and at most 20 % indoors. Our nature garden and discovery yard are used intensively, allowing your child to play, explore and learn to their heart’s content. We ask parents to dress their child in old, weather-appropriate clothing; rain suits and ski trousers are available on site. Each morning or afternoon session follows a fixed daily rhythm. This structure helps toddlers feel secure within the group and their new environment. We work with the Uk & Puk programme and our pedagogical staff are trained in Peutersprongen. Children who need extra support may qualify for a pre-school education (VE) place; a VE indication is required. We maintain active contact with primary schools Apollo and De Morgenster, the child health clinic, the library and SWWH. Parents, of course, remain the key contact. You can register your child free of charge and without obligation; care is offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 08:30-12:30 and Monday afternoons from 13:00-15:30.
