De Spetters

BSO De Spetters is located in the Weidevenne district at Gangeslaan 55A in Purmerend. Our building is attached to public primary school OBS De Koempoelan, so children can walk straight into our rooms after the last school bell. The same premises also house day-care centre Het Kwetternest; many children therefore already know our pedagogical staff from their earliest years, making the transition to after-school care smooth and familiar. Everything we do revolves around an active, cosy atmosphere. We have two bright, homely group rooms. The art and cooking studio is a firm favourite: cupboards filled with cardboard, paint and other materials are waiting to be turned into masterpieces. In the kitchen children learn to make soup or top healthy pizzas together with us. Activities often start with a child’s own idea; we facilitate and coach so that organising an activity becomes a learning experience in itself. Every day we head outside to explore our adjoining playground, the schoolyard of De Koempoelan or the football pitch. Climbing, football, hut-building – outdoor play is simply part of the day. We also offer before-school care from 7 a.m. Children can wake up gently with a game or a book before we walk them to class on time, ensuring a relaxed start for everyone. Our BSO is open 52 weeks a year. This means children can attend on their fixed contract days during school holidays and study days as well. If a holiday or study day does not fall on a contract day, you can use our Holiday Care package. We then organise extra workshops and outings so that the holidays remain a celebration. Communication with parents runs through the Parent App. You receive daily reports with photos, can request extra days or report absence, and find all practical information about the location.
