De Schuit

Welcome to KOSMO De Schuit, our daycare centre located in the Zuid-Berghuizen district of Oldenzaal. We are situated on the ground floor of primary school Breedwijs Berghuizen at Helmichstraat 44. This allows children to move seamlessly from daycare to preschool and later to school – all under one roof. Everything we do revolves around calm, routine and familiarity. We work with small horizontal groups so every child receives the attention they deserve. Our baby group ‘Matroos’ is decorated in soft colours with cribs and cuddly toys. The toddler groups ‘Kapitein’ and ‘Stuurman’ offer challenging corners full of building materials, a dolls’ corner and a play kitchen. In this way children learn about the world around them through play. We follow the VVE programme Uk & Puk. Every toddler is assigned a personal mentor who gets to know the child well. Together we read books, sing songs and make short trips to the park or the bakery. We also visit the residents of De Mariahof on a regular basis. These encounters contribute to the children’s social development. Our spacious garden is safely located behind the building. Here children can ride bikes, build sandcastles or simply run around. When the weather is nice we eat outside and play games. Indoors there is a separate sleeping room with cribs and blackout curtains, so every child can rest when needed.
