Welcome to BSO de Schoter Duijn, the after-school care located right inside the Schoter Duijn primary-school building at Heiligharn 125 in Den Helder. Because we share the same premises, children simply walk from their classroom into our warm, homely group room—no extra travel or stressful transitions. MONTER’s qualified pedagogical staff greet every child personally and create an atmosphere where everyone feels seen and inspired. We welcome children aged 4 to 12. Small group sizes allow us to give genuine individual attention while still offering plenty of freedom to choose activities. The décor mirrors the school’s creative, natural style: soft colours, wooden furniture, cosy corners for reading or building, and ample supplies for arts and crafts. Children can relax after a busy school day or dive into new adventures. Outdoor play is central to our programme. Our large green playground and the adjacent outdoor classroom ‘Schoter Tuijn’ are used daily. Whenever the weather allows, we head out into the neighbourhood—visiting the local playground, testing climbing nets, or doing small shopping trips together. These outings are fun and strengthen social skills while letting children discover Den Helder. We also provide before-school care and full-day programmes during holidays and study days. All activities are planned in close cooperation with the school, ensuring that care and education reinforce each other.
