De Schatkist

Welcome to De Schatkist, our daycare centre located at Overtocht 32 in the heart of Bodegraven. We are part of Junis Kinderopvang and provide care for 76 children aged 0 to 4. Our building sits right next to the De Oude Zustertuin petting farm, so the children regularly visit the animals and explore the vegetable garden. Reading aloud, language and imagination are at the core of our approach. We offer Early Childhood Education (VE) and the Bookstart programme: every day we read together, sing songs and recite rhymes. In this playful way your child’s vocabulary grows naturally. In our spacious hall you will find a welcoming studio where we can draw, craft and experiment with materials endlessly. Different play corners – from home corner to construction corner – invite role play and discovery. We believe physical activity is just as important. Our SpringLab interactive floor makes moving truly fun: children jump, spin and swing together to the rhythm of music. This trains both gross motor skills and language at the same time. We also use our own outdoor yard and the adjacent park; when the weather is nice we picnic outside or create a nature treasure box filled with leaves, stones and flowers. Our qualified staff work in horizontal groups: babies (0-2) and toddlers (2-4) are in separate rooms, so every child receives the calm or stimulation they need. We follow a predictable daily schedule with fixed times for eating, sleeping and playing; this provides recognition and security. The youngest children have a separate sleeping room with cribs and cot beds; toddlers rest on cosy beds in their own group space. Bottle feeding, fruit and healthy snacks are included; drinks such as water, tea or milk are always available. We welcome your child from as young as 6 weeks. Our doors are open Monday to Friday from 07:15 to 18:15; if you need an earlier start we will gladly explore the possibilities together.
