At De Rotterdamse Peuterschool, located right next to OBS De Globe at Den Hertigstraat 32, your child’s very first school journey begins just around the corner. Every morning we welcome toddlers aged 2 to 4 into a warm, small-scale group led by qualified pedagogical staff. Our programme follows the city of Rotterdam’s Early Childhood Education curriculum, built around themes that match the children’s world—think “Wow, it’s hot!” in summer or “Autumn sneezes” in fall. Through play we spark language, motor skills, sensory awareness and social-emotional growth. Each day starts with a shared moment of singing, storytelling, building or reading together. Children then choose their own adventure: the doll corner, construction zone or art studio where they paint and craft. We believe in “I’ll do it myself!” and give plenty of space for discovery, trial and learning from experience. Around 10 a.m. we share water or tea with fruit and head outside. On our safe natural playground children can run, cycle, build sandcastles and play together. Outdoors they learn to handle natural materials, take turns, solve conflicts and share. We work closely with the teachers of OBS De Globe. When a child is almost four we make a warm hand-over, sharing what the child enjoys, where extra support is helpful and how best to prepare the new teacher. This ensures every child starts group 1 with confidence. Parents are always welcome; we host regular parent meetings and keep you informed through personal conversations. Together we make sure every Rotterdam toddler is ready for school and for the world.
