Peuteropvang Noen Schommel

De Rotterdamse Peuterschool, location Noen Schommelstraat is a small-scale daycare centre in the heart of Rotterdam-Noord. At Schommelstraat 69 we welcome up to 16 toddlers per session. As part of the Peuter & Co foundation we follow our eight promises: we prepare your child for school, create safety, stimulate independence, develop social skills, teach norms and values, provide healthy food and plenty of exercise, encourage creativity and actively involve parents. Everything we do revolves around learning through play. Our pedagogical staff provide a rich play environment every day where toddlers aged 2 to 4 grow through play. We work in an outcome-oriented way with the Peuterstappen model and pay extra attention to language development and emerging literacy. Creative development is given plenty of space: we craft, sing and dance. In addition, we stimulate motor development with our Lekker Fit! programme – every day we go outside to play, run and move in our safe garden. We offer both morning and afternoon care. During the communal bread meal toddlers learn healthy eating and table manners. For children with food allergies or who eat vegetarian, we provide suitable alternatives. There is a quiet bedroom where children can rest. Parents are actively involved in their child's development through parent meetings and participating in activities. Dutch is our language of instruction, so all children get a flying start towards primary school.
