Peuteropvang De Phoenix

De Rotterdamse Peuterschool, location De Phoenix is situated on the playground of primary school De Phoenix at Bramenpad 1 in Rozenburg. As part of Stichting Peuter & Co we have provided a familiar and safe environment for up to 14 toddlers aged 2 to 4 since 15 February 2019. We believe that learning through play is the most powerful way to prepare toddlers for primary school. From a secure and familiar setting we encourage children to explore the world around them and discover their own abilities. Our pedagogical staff work in a results-oriented manner: they follow each child’s individual rhythm and ensure that every toddler can develop at his or her own pace. Every day we offer activities that connect with toddlers’ world of experience. We sing, dance and create small works of art. Language development receives a lot of attention: we read aloud, make up rhymes and stimulate vocabulary through conversations during play. Outdoor play is part of the daily routine – in all weather – so that children can practise their gross motor skills and discover natural materials. Our eight promises form the core of our work: we create safety, stimulate self-reliance, develop social skills, pay attention to norms and values, work on a healthy lifestyle, offer creative challenges and actively involve parents in their child’s development. At our school toddlers not only get a flying start; parents are regarded as educational partners. Together we ensure that every child can move on to primary school with confidence.
