De Regenboog

Welcome to De Regenboog, our daycare centre located at Prinses Irenelaan 5 in Alphen aan den Rijn. We are part of the General Christian Foundation SHEZAF Daycare Centres and provide small-scale, personal care for up to 63 children aged 0 to 4 years. Our location is set up as one vertical group where babies and toddlers play and discover together. We believe children stimulate each other in their development and that older children learn to be considerate of the youngest. Our pedagogical staff provide each child with the peace, space and attention needed to develop at his or her own pace. We work with themes that connect to the world of experience of young children. Think of themes such as seasons, animals, traffic or emotions. Within these themes we offer activities such as crafting with different materials, reading aloud, singing and moving. We stimulate language development by talking to the children during all activities and teaching them new words. Our spacious garden invites exploration and play. Children can build sandcastles, cycle, climb and romp. We go outside every day, because outdoor play is good for motor development and resistance. In the garden, children learn about nature and seasons through play. Care is in good hands with us. We change the children at fixed times and use our own diapers for this. For the very youngest we have a separate bedroom where they can sleep in cots. Toddlers also have the option of resting on a bed or in a corner with cushions. Healthy nutrition is important to us. Our cook prepares a warm, healthy meal daily with fresh ingredients. We take dietary requirements such as vegetarian or halal into account. In between, the children get fruit or a healthy snack. We work closely with parents. Every morning there is time for a brief consultation and at the end of the day we tell how it went. We find it important that parents feel involved in the care of their child. Together we ensure that every child feels safe and happy at De Regenboog.
