De Peppel

BSO De Peppel is part of KION childcare and is located on the grounds of primary school De Peppel at Augustuslaan 22 in Beuningen. We provide a homely, small-scale after-school care service for children aged 4 to 13. Our single vertical base group accommodates up to 22 children, ensuring personal attention and a familiar atmosphere. Our pedagogical approach is inspired by the vision of Thomas Gordon: we actively listen to the children, acknowledge their feelings and needs, and communicate using ‘I-messages’. In addition, we follow the Reggio Emilia philosophy, just like the primary school, encouraging creative processes and inviting children to explore and shape their own ideas. BSO De Peppel is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during school weeks. For care on Wednesdays and Fridays, as well as during all holiday periods, children can go to BSO De Wijze Dabbers; this is recorded in the placement agreement. When a study day falls on a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday, children spend the morning at De Wijze Dabbers and return to their own BSO space in the afternoon. Before-school care is available Monday to Friday in the same space. We use our own group room, the hallway, the outdoor area and, for focused activities, the auditorium. Thanks to close cooperation with primary school De Peppel, teachers and childcare staff know each other and can respond quickly when needed. We offer children a familiar, safe place where they can play, discover and relax after school.
