Welcome to KDV De Paddestoel, located at Ranonkelweg 3 in Berkel en Rodenrijs. We provide small-scale, professional daycare for children aged 0 to 4. Our setting has a fairy-tale atmosphere and consists of seven core groups: three baby-toddler groups, three preschool groups and a special 3+ group. This horizontal grouping lets children play with peers their own age, creating a safe and familiar feeling. De Paddestoel works with permanent, highly qualified pedagogical staff—50 % senior-secondary and 50 % higher-education trained—who make a difference every day. Our small groups give us room to give each child personal attention. We follow the child’s own rhythm and tailor activities accordingly. Each day we go outside to one of our two playgrounds: the inner yard with sandpit and climbing frame, and the front yard with climbable mushroom sculptures and a lawn. The rooftop terrace next to the baby rooms invites crawling and lying on soft artificial grass. Development at De Paddestoel goes beyond care. We offer a rich programme: children can dance in our music & dance room, paint in the studio, cook in the teaching kitchen or explore our vegetable garden and small farm. We swim in our own instruction pool, take trips to the forest, library or museum and learn about the world through play. Everything is aimed at helping children grow optimally in motor, social-emotional and cognitive areas. Healthy food is part of this. We fetch fresh bread daily from the local baker and cater for every dietary need: halal, gluten-free, lactose-free or allergies—nothing is too much trouble. Pampers nappies and care products are included, so you can leave your child without worry. We are open all year, including the summer holidays, so you are never forced to take a vacation.
