De Ooievaar

Welcome to De Ooievaar, our daycare centre located at Burgemeester de Boerstraat 17 in the heart of Assendelft. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 in a homely, safe environment where every child is given the space to develop at their own pace. Our building is one single unit, so babies, toddlers and preschoolers all play, explore and grow under one roof. This makes our setting clear and familiar. At De Ooievaar, qualified pedagogical staff work in fixed teams. They know every child well and take time for personal attention. We keep group sizes small to ensure plenty of room for rest, regularity and rhythm. For the youngest ones we provide bottle feeding, fresh fruit and healthy snacks. Separate sleeping rooms allow babies and toddlers to rest in a quiet setting while the older children play in the garden or play area. Language and development are central to our programme. We offer early childhood education (VVE) to children who need extra language or developmental support. We also focus on motor development and stimulate children’s curiosity by inviting them to play and discover. Indoors and outdoors there is plenty of fun: a secure garden with play equipment, sandpits and space to run and climb. Registration is possible from 12 weeks of pregnancy onwards, due to waiting lists. We do not offer hourly care; parents choose fixed sessions so that there are always enough pedagogical staff on site. You can easily book a tour or register online via our website.
