De Mukkenstal

We are De Mukkenstal, an agricultural daycare center located at Laagriebroekseweg 26 in Leunen. As a family business of Paul and Monique Litjens, we provide children aged 0 to 4 with a unique place to grow up, right in the middle of our working farm. Our children are allowed to be themselves here: playing outside, getting dirty, being with animals and in nature. We believe that children develop best when they are given the space to discover and learn from their environment. Our daycare consists of two horizontal groups for children from 0 to about 3 years old (15 children per group) and one group for children from 2 to 4 years old (16 children). We work with fixed caregivers per group and maintain a ratio of 4 to 10 children per caregiver. The children interact daily with our farm animals: they cuddle with the goats and rabbits, collect eggs from the chickens, and can even help take care of the young cattle. This interaction with animals and nature is an essential part of our pedagogical approach. We provide preschool education (VVE) in our toddler playgroup, specifically for children aged 2 to 4. This morning care playfully prepares children for elementary school. Diapers are included with us and we provide fresh fruit and drinks throughout the day. For babies, we offer bottle feeding, but parents need to provide the formula themselves. We take allergies and special dietary needs into account. Our location is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. We are affiliated with the United Agricultural Childcare (VAK) and operate according to the highest quality standards. Our pedagogical staff are well-trained and ready to guide each child in their development into an independent and balanced individual.
