De Meerpaal

BSO De Meerpaal is located in the same spacious, former school building at G. Schipperstraat 1 in Naarden that also houses our day-care centre. We provide after-school care for up to 130 primary-school children and work with four fixed groups: two groups for children aged 4 to 8 and two groups for children aged 6 to 10. This horizontal grouping ensures that children play with peers and that activities match their developmental stage. When school ends, the second part of the day begins for us. Our pedagogical staff are already waiting at the connected primary schools or pick the children up from their classrooms. Back at the centre there is first a moment to land: a healthy snack and time to chat about the school day. Afterwards, children choose whether to join an activity or play freely. Shelves in our studio are filled with craft materials; anyone who feels like it can bake cookies in the kitchen or make Valentine garlands. Outside there is a large playground with climbing equipment, a sandpit and plenty of room to run or play hide-and-seek. During holidays and study days we open as early as 8:00 a.m. and organise extensive outings. We follow a fixed daily rhythm so that children know what to expect. Yet we remain flexible: if an activity runs long or a child simply needs rest, we adapt. Parents stay involved through our Parent Portal with photos and a short daily report. Questions or concerns can always be addressed directly to the group. BSO De Meerpaal is part of Stichting Kinderopvang Bussum-Naarden/Muiden-Muiderberg (SKBNM). As a social organisation we deliberately keep our rates low and invest one cent of every paid hour in neighbourhood projects. Together with parents we create a safe, playful and challenging place where children can be themselves.
