De Krekels

Welcome to daycare De Krekels, located in the cozy Rivierenbuurt area of Amsterdam at Dongestraat 8. We provide care for children from 0 to 4 years old in two horizontal groups, including a special baby group for the youngest ones. Our daycare works with VVE programs (pre- and early school education) using the Uk & Puk methodology. At De Krekels, we follow a fixed daily structure that aligns with the natural needs of young children. We start the day calmly with play and getting used to the environment, followed by joint activities such as singing, reading aloud, and crafting. Our pedagogical staff provide a warm and safe environment where each child can develop at their own pace. Our spacious group areas are bright and child-friendly, with special attention to different developmental areas. We have our own outdoor playground where children go daily to play and discover. The outdoor space offers plenty of opportunities for natural experiences and motor development. For the youngest children, we have a separate baby group where rest, regularity, and cleanliness are central. We change the children here and use the care products that parents provide. Bottle feeding is given according to the home rhythm and we closely monitor sleep moments in our quiet sleeping areas. For toddlers and preschoolers, we organize daily fun activities such as dancing to music, creative activities with paint and clay, and discovering books and stories. We work thematically, connecting to the children's world of experience. The Uk & Puk themes help us to work specifically on language development and social skills. We believe it's important that children eat healthy and varied food. We serve fresh fruit and healthy snacks daily. For children with allergies, we take special dietary needs into account. Parents can provide their own diapers and care products that we use throughout the day. Our location has a secure entrance and we work with familiar faces who know your child well. We communicate openly with parents about their child's development and are always available for questions or consultation.
