De Kleine Wereld Juliana

Welcome to De Kleine Wereld Juliana, Amsterdam’s oldest daycare centre. Our homelike building is tucked away on Oudekerksplein, in one of the oldest parts of the city centre. Since 1872 – originally as a children’s shelter on Warmoesstraat – we have provided warm, loving care for children aged 0 to 4. Inside you will find cosy vertical groups where babies and toddlers play and learn together. Each room is decorated in soft colours and arranged into different play corners; a separate sleep room with an individual bed for every child completes the setting. Large windows look out onto our sheltered courtyard, bringing daylight and nature inside. That courtyard is our pride: a circular, adventurous garden filled with natural elements and play materials. Even our babies have their own safe corner within the garden, so they too can enjoy fresh air in peace. We take the children outside every day, letting them explore sand, water and plants to support their development. Our experienced team of pedagogical staff give personal attention to every child. We follow each child’s curiosity, adapt activities accordingly and offer a preschool programme that covers all areas of development in a playful way. Full-day or half-day care is available to suit your family’s needs. At Juliana you can be who you are, to become who you will be.
