De Kleine Wereld De Edelsteen

Welcome to De Kleine Wereld De Edelsteen, our homely daycare centre located in the heart of Amsterdam’s vibrant Diamantbuurt. We are situated on the first floor of a beautifully renovated former school building at Smaragdplein. We provide care for up to 36 children aged 0 to 4 years. Inside, we offer warm and homely group rooms that invite children to play and explore. Each group has its own sleeping room with a personal bed for every child, ensuring rest and routine. In our studio, we organise creative activities that stimulate imagination and development. We work with horizontal groups, so children are surrounded by peers of the same age. Our outdoor space is rich and challenging. We have a large inner garden with a vegetable patch where we grow vegetables, herbs and flowers together with the children. We also make use of a gym and the playground in front of the building. We love to go on outings: to the playground, the toddler theatre, or we organise a carnival parade through the neighbourhood. Every experience contributes to the child’s development. Our dedicated team consists of pedagogical staff chosen with the utmost care. They are ready every day with attention and love for both child and parent. We believe that childcare is much more than just care: we offer an environment that complements home, where children develop through play. Together with parents, we work on the child’s development, every day again.
