Welcome to Peuterleerplek De Kleine Dolfijn, located at Van Damstraat 7 in the heart of The Hague. We are part of Jongleren Den Haag and offer toddler care for children aged 2 to 4. Everything we do is guided by the child’s own rhythm: a gentle transition from home to a safe, familiar environment where toddlers can play, explore and grow. Our toddler group follows fixed sessions and a clear, calm daily rhythm. We offer two groups: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:15 to 15:30, and Tuesday and Thursday from 08:15 to 11:30. This structure provides the predictability and calm that young children need. We work in horizontal groups, bringing together children of the same age. This supports social development and allows us to tailor activities to the toddlers’ world of experience. Language and speech development are central to our programme. We use recognised Early Childhood Education (VVE) methods to stimulate children’s language skills. Through play, toddlers are introduced to words, sounds and stories. Our pedagogical staff create a rich learning environment with inviting corners and materials linked to the weekly theme. Learning becomes a natural part of the day. We believe every child should feel seen and heard. That is why we work on a small, personal scale. Parents are actively involved in their child’s development. We regularly share observations and discuss together what the child needs to thrive. Our approach is warm, involved and focused on strengthening each child’s unique strengths. Peuterleerplek De Kleine Dolfijn is a place where toddlers grow through play in a safe, familiar setting. We prepare them for the next step: primary school. With attention, structure and joy, we build a solid foundation for the future together.
