De Kinderster

Welcome to De Kinderster Oost, our daycare center located at Sumatrakade 1539 in Amsterdam. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in a homely and safe environment that feels like a second home. At De Kinderster, every child's development is our central focus. We work daily with a VVE program (Early Childhood Education) to optimally support children's development and prepare them well for primary school. Our pedagogical staff are expert and qualified, and receive continuous training in our pedagogical approach. We believe it's important that children feel safe and secure. That's why every child has their own mentor: a fixed pedagogical staff member in the group. Babies follow their own rhythm in consultation with parents. As they grow older, they interact more with other children and a group rhythm develops. Our location features a large garden where children can fully express themselves and discover nature through play. We serve mostly organic and warm, fresh meals, because seeing others eat encourages eating. Together with friends, children discover new tastes and textures. Flexibility is important to us. Children can be cared for either half-days or full days, with a minimum attendance of two half-days per week. We enjoy thinking along with parents about which form of childcare best suits their family. Our childcare has a personal character: not too big, not too small. This way we combine the coziness and flexibility of small-scale care with the safety and expertise of a larger organization.
