De Kinderglobe

De Kinderglobe daycare is located on the ground floor of primary school De Globetrotter at Walhallalaan 116, on the Katendrecht peninsula in Rotterdam. From our bright rooms the children look out over the river Maas and can step straight onto the playground through their own outside door. We provide full-day care for up to 50 children aged 0 to 4, divided into a baby group, a toddler group and a vertical group. Because we are housed in the school building we work closely with the teachers of De Globetrotter: we use the same Early Childhood Education methods, follow joint themes and regularly use the kindergarten gym and the two sports halls in the building. This makes the transition to primary school a natural next step. At De Kinderglobe everything revolves around movement and health. We are an official Lekker Fit! location. That means we consciously play outside every day, dance and exercise in the gym and follow a healthy food policy: lots of fruit and vegetables, water and tea, and no sweets. Our qualified pedagogical staff provide a rich range of activities that tie in with the current theme. Think of animal visits, making music, crafting with natural materials and language games that stimulate vocabulary. We believe it is important that every child feels safe and seen; cuddles and personal attention are therefore central. Parents are not outsiders with us. We have an active parent committee that thinks along about policy and activities. Every parent is assigned a fixed pedagogical employee as a permanent contact person and we regularly organise parent meetings. For transport you can use metro D or E (Rijnhaven stop) or bus 77 (SS Rotterdam stop); there is sufficient paid parking in front of the door. Our door is always open for a no-obligation tour or an introductory meeting.
