Kinderwoud Witmarsum

Welcome to De Kinderen van September, located at van Aylvaweg 38 in Witmarsum. We are a bilingual after-school care (BSO) where both Dutch and Frisian are spoken. After a long school day, we offer children from grades 1 to 8 a warm and safe place to play, relax and develop. Our location is set in the former Rabobank building and has room for up to 18 children. We work with three fixed, horizontal groups, ensuring each child is in a familiar setting with peers. Our experienced pedagogical staff provide caring guidance, making every child feel seen and valued. There is a wide range of activities: outdoor play in our green surroundings, creative crafts, board games or simply relaxing with friends. We offer a varied programme tailored to what the children need that day. The focus is on freedom within clear boundaries, allowing children to develop at their own pace. As a bilingual BSO, we stimulate language development in both Dutch and Frisian. This happens naturally through songs, stories and conversations in both languages, contributing to a rich language environment rooted in Frisian culture and identity.
