De Kattekop

De Kattekop Day Care Centre is located at Wassenaarseweg 8 in Leiden and has been providing childcare for children aged 0 to 4 since 1980. We are a foundation that exclusively offers childcare to staff and students of Leiden University and its affiliated institutions. Our purpose-built facility accommodates 56 children across two baby groups (8 weeks – 2 years) and two toddler groups (2 – 4 years). At De Kattekop, we focus on creating a warm, safe and calm environment. Our structured groups are led by consistent pedagogical staff, ensuring every child receives the attention they need. Our spacious indoor areas are bright and homely, and we have two outdoor spaces: a sheltered patio with a sandpit for babies and a separate playground for toddlers. Outdoor play is a daily part of our routine. We value close communication with parents. Our staff take time each day to share how your child’s day went. We also have an active parents’ committee that contributes to policy and development. Parents appreciate our approach: we scored 9.2 in the latest satisfaction survey, the highest in South Holland. De Kattekop is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30. We are closed on public holidays and a few additional days around the holidays.
