De Jutter

De Jutter After-School Care is part of Stichting Kinderopvang Friesland and is located in Brede School De Jutter at Lutinelaan 3, Vlieland. We provide after-school care for up to 20 children aged 4 to 13. Our unique island setting sits almost inside the forest and within walking distance of the beach; every day we make full use of the dunes, woods and all the facilities that Vlieland offers us free of charge. We work in a vertical group: all children – from the youngest primary pupils up to group 8 – are together. This creates close friendships and natural learning: older children practise leadership and care, while younger ones pick up new skills quickly. Brothers and sisters can stay together without having to switch groups when they reach a certain age. Our activity programme is theme-based and tied to holidays, seasons and the children’s own ideas. Examples include beach-combing for shells to turn into crafts, building huts with the Forestry Service, nature excursions and creative projects. We tailor activities to age and interest: sometimes all ages join in one big adventure, other times we split into smaller age groups so every child is challenged at their own level. All our pedagogical staff are trained for the work they do and provide a homely, safe and familiar environment. We share photos, videos and short messages daily through the Parro app so parents can follow their child’s experiences. When school is closed – on study days or during holidays – we are still open, guaranteeing care whenever you need it. In short, De Jutter After-School Care is a warm second home where children develop through play, nature and adventure, right in the heart of beautiful Vlieland.
