We are de Hummel, a small-scale daycare centre run by SKN at Sportweg 22 in Ens. We welcome up to 16 children from the age of 2 until they start primary school, offering a safe second home where they can develop through play. Our horizontal group structure places toddlers and pre-schoolers in age-specific groups, ensuring that every activity matches their developmental stage. As a VE group (Pre-school Education) we follow SKN’s Early Childhood Education programme. This supports language skills, social development and overall growth. Our qualified staff provide themed activities that spark curiosity and invite children to explore, investigate and learn. The rooms are colourful, secure and designed for young children, with a separate nap room and a play area for building, crafting, singing and playing. We have a private garden where children can run, cycle and enjoy sand and water play. Outdoor play is an important part of our day, as we believe fresh air and natural stimuli are essential for development. Parents are always welcome; we value parental involvement and organise regular parent evenings and reading sessions. Communication is handled through a parent portal, keeping you informed about your child’s progress.
