De Duurzame BSO

De Duurzame BSO is part of childcare organisation Zonnelicht, located at Rijnstraat 557A in ’s-Hertogenbosch. We provide after-school care for up to 60 children aged 4 to 12. Our location is beautifully situated within walking distance of the Oosterplas lake, a nature playground and a children’s farm. We have close partnerships with Vrije School De Driestroom and Montessori Kindcentrum Aan de Oosterplas, right in our backyard. Our focus is on relaxation and discovering what you enjoy and what you’re good at through play. Every day we offer a wide range of activities in creativity, sports & games, health, nature experience and culture. Through our ‘marketplace’ activities, children are in charge: twice a year they decide which workshops they want. These include drama, dance, art, music, sports, cooking, gardening, visiting the petting farm and intercultural projects. Guest teachers regularly offer special courses such as djembe lessons, programming, yoga and scroll-saw work. We deliberately work on 21st-century skills such as self-awareness, collaboration, empathy and sustainability. Our pedagogical vision is based on love for people, animals and the environment, self-awareness and being of service to a fair and sustainable world. Children learn to take care of themselves and their surroundings, now and in the future. Younger children (4-8 years) receive extra attention to rest and relaxation. Older children (8-12 years) are given more responsibility and may organise activities themselves. We also provide before-school care (VSO) for children from Vrije School De Driestroom. De Duurzame BSO is the place where children have fun, develop themselves and learn to contribute to a better world.
