KDV De Droomboom

Kinderdagverblijf De Droomboom is located at Overschiese Kleiweg 555 in Rotterdam, on the grounds of care home Stadszicht (Laurens) in Overschie. We provide childcare for up to 56 children aged 0 to 4 years, divided into two baby groups and two toddler groups. Our location is uniquely situated in the middle of nature: children play daily in our own forest, with animals and a vegetable garden. Even babies are outside every day and sleep in special outdoor cribs. We work with vertical groups, where children from 0 to 4 years play and learn together. This setup encourages the development of social skills and independence. Our pedagogical staff provide a safe and familiar environment in which each child is given the space to develop at their own pace. We follow a fixed daily schedule with room for activities such as singing, dancing, reading aloud and exploring nature. A special aspect of De Droomboom is the collaboration with the care home. We regularly visit the residents to dance and sing together, and residents also come to read to us. These encounters are valuable for both the children and the residents. Our own chef prepares a warm, healthy meal for the children three times a week. We offer preschool education (VVE) to our toddlers, using themes that connect with the children's world of experience. At De Droomboom we believe it is important that children spend a lot of time outdoors and come into contact with natural materials. We have a large garden with a mud kitchen, animals and plenty of space to play and discover. Our location is well secured with an access system and we work according to the GGD guidelines regarding hygiene and safety.
