De Buren

Welcome to Partou Out-of-School Care Buren, located at Antonie Duycklaan 9a in Leiden. Our setting is the clubhouse of Leiden Athletics Club, right next to the Leidse Hout city park. This unique spot gives us direct access to woods, sports fields and the athletics track, so outdoor play and exercise are part of every day. We provide care for up to 33 children aged 4–12, divided into two same-age groups. Each group has its own permanent pedagogical employee who acts as a mentor. In our spacious group room you will find a large table where we eat and drink together, surrounded by different play corners: a craft and creativity corner, a construction corner and a quiet reading corner. We also have a separate ‘workshop’ where children can tinker, experiment and work on their own projects. Our sessions are filled with activities that connect to the children’s world of experience. We make extensive use of the immediate surroundings: walks through the park, sports and games on the athletics track, or nature excursions where we look at insects, collect leaves and make campfires. We also organise regular themed activities such as our own mini-Olympics or creative workshops using natural materials. We pick up children on foot from Woutertje Pieterse and Leidse Houtschool. For older children it is possible to travel independently from school to the BSO; this arrangement is recorded in writing with parents. Parents communicate with us via the Partou parent app. Here you can find the schedule, request extra days and contact the mentor or location manager directly.
