De Boartersboat

Welcome aboard De Boartersboat! We are a daycare centre located in the heart of Burgum, housed in a distinctive building at Bulthuissingel 16. Originally designed as a post office and shaped like a ship, our building offers a unique and safe environment for up to 64 children aged 0 to 4 years. The name ‘De Boartersboat’ – Frisian for ‘play boat’ – reflects both the architecture and our playful approach to childcare. Our location features a spacious, walled outdoor area where we have created an inspiring discovery garden. This garden invites children to play, explore, and enjoy the outdoors under the guidance of our qualified pedagogical staff. The building itself offers various flexible spaces tailored to different age groups and developmental stages. We operate with horizontal groups, bringing together children of similar ages to support development and create a familiar, secure setting for each child. De Boartersboat is part of Kinderopvang Burgum B.V. and has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register since 15 October 2011. We provide early childhood education (VE), contributing meaningfully to the development of young children. Our opening hours are from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with extended care available from 6:30 AM to 6:15 PM, offering parents the flexibility they need. The centre is situated in a quiet, low-traffic neighbourhood, just 425 metres from primary schools ‘it Partoer’ and ‘de Arke’. The library, swimming pool, sports hall, and shopping centre are all within walking distance. This central location makes De Boartersboat not only easily accessible but also an integral part of the Burgum community and surrounding areas.
