De Bloementuin

We are De Bloementuin, a warm and professional daycare centre operated by Kindernet, located on the grounds of Slingeland Hospital at Kruisbergseweg 29 in Doetinchem. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in three horizontal groups: De Bijtjes (babies), De Vlinders (toddlers) and De Bloemetjes (preschoolers). Each group has its own atmosphere and programme, tailored to the age and developmental stage of the children. Everything we do revolves around safety, trust and enjoyment. We work with consistent pedagogical staff who build warm relationships with the children every day. We follow a clear daily rhythm in which rest, regularity and challenge go hand in hand. We work thematically: every six weeks we start a new theme through which we explore the world in a playful way. Think of nature, seasons, traffic or emotions. We regularly go on outings: the forest is nearby and invites discovery trips, muddy adventures and outdoor play. We believe it is important that every child can be themselves. That is why we offer a safe environment in which there is room for both initiative and structure. We follow Kindernet’s general pedagogical policy, in which the four basic goals of Riksen-Walraven are central: the child must have enjoyed themselves, have learned something, have played with other children and have developed social skills. We carefully observe and record each child’s development so that we can tailor our programme to what the child needs. Our location is small-scale and clearly laid out. We have a spacious garden with play equipment and natural elements. Inside, everything is child-friendly with different corners: a reading corner, a construction corner, a home corner and a creative corner. We provide warm meals, freshly prepared and tailored to the nutritional needs of young children. For babies we provide bottle feeding and follow the home rhythm as closely as possible. We value parental involvement highly. We inform parents daily through the handover book or brief conversations at pick-up and drop-off. We invite parents annually for a parent meeting and regularly organise parent activities such as a summer party or themed morning. There is also an active parent committee that helps shape policy and the atmosphere in the group. In short: De Bloementuin is a place where children feel safe and loved, where they can grow, play and discover. We are ready with genuine attention and professional care, every single day.
