De Berk

Welcome to BSO De Berk, located at Martinusweg 29 in the quiet village of Herwen. We are part of ELMO-Kinderopvang and have provided trusted after-school care for up to 16 children aged 4 to 12 since 1 January 2014. Our homely building is situated in a peaceful spot in the municipality of Rijnwaarden, giving children a safe and familiar place to play, relax and discover new things after school. At De Berk we work from one clear principle: every child is free to be themselves. We offer calm and structure, but also room for personal initiative. The group is intentionally kept small so that we truly know every youngster and can respond to what he or she needs that day. That may mean romping together in our green garden, heading to the creative corner for crafts, or simply resting on the sofa with a book. The atmosphere is homely and informal, just like children experience at home. We work closely with parents and with Basisschool Sprankel, only 320 metres away. Children are collected safely and walk or cycle together to our location. Other schools in the immediate area can also be served by arrangement. During holidays and teacher-training days we offer extra care so that parents can continue to combine work or appointments without worry.
