De Berk

BSO De Berk is located in a dedicated space on the grounds of primary school Geert Holle, right in the centre of Berkhout village. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 and work closely with the school’s teaching staff. Every few weeks the children choose a new theme; within that theme they play games, do arts & crafts, read and take part in other activities. The play corners are also adapted to match the theme. As an extra service we offer parents the option of having us drop off and pick up their child at the local sports club. During school holidays the children of BSO De Berk can join the holiday programme at Ichthus. The location is organised by age group so that children are stimulated in a way that suits their developmental stage. The younger BSO group (school years 1–3) uses the school’s learning plaza with building and home corners, while the older group (school years 4–8) can retreat upstairs with a book or a game. Outdoor play is an important part of our programme; our spacious outdoor area offers plenty of room to run, climb and enjoy sports activities. BSO De Berk is part of Stichting Kinderopvang West-Friesland and follows their pedagogical policy. We provide a safe, challenging environment in which every child can develop at his or her own pace.
