De Berenboot

Welcome to De Berenboot daycare, located at Ploegstraat 1 in the heart of Nijmegen. We are part of KION childcare and provide care for up to 80 children aged 0–4, five days a week, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM – and on request from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Our priority is a homely, warm atmosphere where safety and security come first. We follow each child’s natural rhythm. Every room offers age-specific play corners: a home corner, construction corner and reading nook. Older and younger children play together and learn from one another. From the baby room you step straight onto the outdoor play strip, and from the toddler group you reach an enclosed outdoor area. Our own nature garden – an inner courtyard full of challenges – features a bike track, sandpit, slide, baby outdoor equipment and a barefoot path. Children roam among tree trunks and through a willow tunnel to experience nature. When it’s time to rest, your child can sleep in an outdoor cot. A day at De Berenboot follows a clear rhythm. In the morning we have a fruit moment with storytelling or singing. Your child chooses which activity to join, encouraging decision-making. We often work in small groups because every child has unique interests. At lunchtime your child decides what goes on the sandwich. At nap or rest time we encourage independent dressing and undressing. In the afternoon we play outside or finish with another activity. In short, De Berenboot offers a safe, stimulating environment where your child can develop to the fullest.
