Dak Ametist

Welcome to Dak Ametist, our spacious, bright childcare centre in the green heart of The Hague’s Haagse Hout district. Located at Ametisthorst 421, we offer a warm place where children aged 0 to 4 can grow safely and confidently. Our horizontal groups are arranged by age, ensuring every child receives the attention that matches his or her developmental stage. Babies nap outdoors in special prams, while toddlers explore cosy play and discovery corners or sturdy workbenches. Every day we take the children outside into nature: we garden in our own vegetable patch, make music with simple instruments and read aloud in our quiet reading corner. We also organise regular short trips to the nearby park. Our pedagogical staff follow the Early Childhood Education programme ‘Startblokken’ to stimulate language and speech development. We work with a fixed daily routine that includes hot meals, fruit and healthy snacks. For babies we provide bottle feeding and nappy changes; special dietary needs such as vegetarian, halal or allergy-friendly meals are arranged personally with parents. Everything your child needs – from sunscreen to sleeping bag – is on site. Parents receive photos and reports through our app, so you can follow your child’s day.
