Da Costa

BSO Da Costa is part of Quadrant Kindercentra and is located inside Da Costa primary school at Laan van Turkenburg 2 in Bodegraven. We provide after-school care on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:30 to 18:30. Younger children are collected from their classroom; older children walk to our room independently. We run one vertical base group of up to 20 children aged 4 to 12. Two qualified pedagogical staff members guide the children every day. We believe mixed-age groups are valuable: older children learn responsibility while younger children learn by example. Our programme is theme-based, aligned with the seasons and the children’s interests. Themes include Nature, Spring, Summer and Journey around the World. Children are free to choose whether to join the activity or do something else. After school we share fruit with water or tea; later in the afternoon we offer a cracker or something baked during a cooking activity. Our space shares the building with the toddler group and has its own enclosed outdoor area with sandbox, bikes, balls and other play equipment. Holiday care takes place at KC Wereldweijde in Bodegraven; parents can indicate in advance which days they need care. Parents stay informed through our parent portal and the Konnect app: we share photos and messages daily. We follow Thomas Gordon’s approach: respectful, equal communication with active listening. Together with parents, school and the neighbourhood we create a safe, challenging environment where every child can develop.
