Christoforus Almelo

Welcome to Christoforus Almelo, our day-care centre at Biesterweg 6 in Almelo. We provide professional anthroposophical day care for children aged 0 to 4. In a homely group of no more than eight children we work from the conviction that every child is free to develop in a safe, loving environment. Our baby group (6 months – 2 years) and toddler group (2 – 4 years) form two calm, horizontal communities in which each child is given the time and space to grow at his or her own pace. We supply bottle feeding, healthy snacks and drinks, and provide a dedicated sleeping area with cribs and beds. Natural care products and soft textiles are part of our daily routine. Artistic activities are central: painting with plant-based colours, modelling with beeswax and seasonal crafts. Every day we take the children to our sheltered garden where they can play in the sand, splash with water and experience the seasons. Outdoor learning is just as important to us as indoor play. Our pedagogical staff are trained to observe the developmental stages recognised within the anthroposophical view. We align our daily rhythms, songs and stories accordingly, so that every child experiences both security and challenge. Parents may opt for half-day or full-day care.
