BSO Kornuit

BSO Kornuit is located inside primary school DOK19 at Flevoweg 73 in Harderwijk and is part of Stichting Kinderspeelzalen Harderwijk (SKH). We provide after-school care for up to 45 children aged 4 to 12 who live in the Waterfront, Zeebuurt or inner-city districts. Our homely, low-threshold atmosphere is reinforced by sharing the same roof as the school: children see us during the day, we see them – in short, you matter. Our before-school care (VSO) opens at 7.15 a.m. Children can play quietly, do crafts or join a board game. Our qualified pedagogical staff personally escort every child to class and, when needed, brief the teacher so each child starts the day calmly. At the end of the school day we welcome the children to our after-school programme. From group 4 onward they may come to our room independently; younger children are collected from their classroom. We always start with a shared group moment. On long BSO days we eat a sandwich together; on short days the children receive fruit and a rice cake with cheese spread or peanut butter. During this time they exchange stories about their day at school. BSO Kornuit works with themed periods. Each theme offers a varied programme centred on movement, creativity and a language-rich environment. Every day there is an organised activity – such as arts and crafts, nature or forest activities, or creative outings – but children are also free to play or relax in familiar corners. During school holidays we run holiday care from 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. Children from various SKH BSO locations come together on one site. We provide workshops, creative projects and regular trips, for example to the forest or a playground. Parents register their child in advance; we are closed during the summer construction holiday.
