Campus Columbus

Welcome to Dalton Child Centre Campus Columbus, located at Weegbree 2 in the heart of Heerhugowaard. Our child centre has been housed in a modern building since 2012, where one professional team seamlessly coordinates education, childcare and parenting. For children aged 0-4 we offer our daycare services, following the Dalton principles of Helen Parkhurst. We believe in developing 'people without fear' who discover and build the future together. Our youngest children (0-2 years) stay in the New World, where they can play and sleep all day in a safe and familiar environment. For toddlers (2-4 years) we have created the space La Pinta, where they learn and discover through play. Each child has their own mentor who is the point of contact for parents and involved in the child's development. Our pedagogical staff create a safe, supportive climate in which every child is given the space to deal with the environment as independently and proactively as possible. We work with VVE (Pre-school Education) programmes focused on language development and school readiness. Parents are very welcome to participate in the group, share their expertise or simply help with settling their child. The daycare is open Monday to Friday from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm. We offer both full and half days of childcare, tailored to parents' needs. Due to our central location near Middenwaard shopping centre, we are easily accessible.
