Welcome to Buitenschoolse Opvang Villa Newton, located in a characteristic former school building at Newtonstraat 54 in the heart of Watergraafsmeer, Amsterdam. Our house is a welcoming place where children aged 4 to 12 can truly "come home" after school. We welcome pupils from almost every primary school in the neighbourhood, making it easy for kids to meet new friends right around the corner. Inside the building you will find bright, spacious classrooms that we have transformed into themed areas. Children decide where their adventure starts: climbing in the gym, playing a game of table tennis, or simply relaxing in the chill corner with a book. Our relaxed living kitchen is where all baking heroes gather to mix the wildest flavours. Thanks to the different zones every child can do exactly what they feel like at that moment – action and relaxation alternate effortlessly. Our Villa Specials make it extra fun. Children dive into a series of activities where they get plenty of time to roll up their sleeves: working with soapstone, doing woodwork in the outdoor workshop or getting creative with plaster in the studio. During school holidays we team up with Villa WSV, which means double the fun, surprising outings and adventures to talk about for days. Our pedagogical team is just as diverse as the children themselves: worldly, enthusiastic and always up for a joke. With a mix of young and old, and helping hands from volunteers, we create a cosy atmosphere and clear agreements. Everyone is allowed to be themselves here. Whether you want to share a joke or just need someone to listen, there is always someone ready. At Buitenschoolse Opvang Villa Newton we believe children learn by doing.
