Kolhornsehei

Welcome to out-of-school care Kolhornse Hei, located right on the Kolhornse Hei heath and directly opposite the Goudenregenschool in Hilversum. Every day we make grateful use of this unique spot: nature literally starts at our doorstep. Thanks to the immediate proximity of the heath, we can play, build dens and romp around outdoors all year round. We also bring nature inside: our bright rooms overlook the greenery and we use as many natural materials as possible. Children are placed in three age-based core groups. Each group has fixed pedagogical staff who know and guide the children well. In addition, children can use different ‘action’ rooms throughout the day. There is an atelier where we craft and draw daily, a game room with a pool table, a special 8+ room and a kitchen where we cook and bake together. The youngest children enjoy special play corners such as a wooden camper and a tipi. Our huge forest garden and playground offer endless opportunities for climbing, building and sports. In the vegetable garden beds, children with green fingers learn how vegetables and herbs grow. We regularly organise outings to the forest, the local supermarket or the playground of the Goudenregenschool. For children who go to sports clubs or swimming lessons after school, we arrange free transport. Parents use our online parent portal Jaamo to easily keep track of holiday days, swap days or report their child sick. We work closely with the Goudenregenschool: we pick up the children after school and take responsibility from the moment the teacher hands them over. Together we provide a warm, safe and challenging place where children love to come.
