Dwars

Welcome to BSO Dwars, our after-school care located in the auditorium of the Gertrudisschool at Amaliadwarsstraat 2 in Utrecht. We provide care for children from 7/8 years old attending the Gertrudisschool. Our location features a playroom and a large outdoor area where children can play and explore to their heart's content. At BSO Dwars, child participation is at the heart of everything we do. Our pedagogical staff actively involve children in deciding on activities and selecting new materials. This gives children a voice in their own development and creates an environment where they feel heard and valued. Our activity program is varied and tailored to the children's interests. We regularly organize cooking activities where children learn about food and healthy choices. In our gymnasium, we offer sports and games that contribute to motor development and the joy of movement. Additionally, there's always time for outdoor play in our well-secured playground. For children who need quiet time or homework support, a separate space is available. Here they can do their homework in peace or take a moment for themselves. We understand that children have different needs after an intensive school day and therefore offer a flexible approach. We work according to the Pedagogical Heart of Kind&co ludens. This means we give children the space to be themselves, to grow and to discover. Our rich learning environment stimulates curiosity and creativity. We see our care as a mini-society where we have an eye for each other and the world around us. During school holidays, we are open from 7:30 to 18:30. On Wednesdays and Fridays, there is also the option to receive care at BSO Strandlopers.
