Buitenschoolse Opvang De Ontdekking

Buitenschoolse Opvang De Ontdekking is part of Kindcentrum De Ontdekking, located at Kamerlingh Onneslaan 3 in the Oosterheide district of Oosterhout. We provide small-scale, familiar out-of-school care for up to 20 primary-school children aged 4 to 13 each day. Our room is situated inside the school building, so children step straight into a trusted environment after classes. We work closely with De Ontdekking primary school. Children have access to all facilities of the centre: the theatre hall, the media library and the art studio. Outside, they enjoy a green, adventurous playground featuring a sports and games court, a pirate island, a willow wigwam village and flowering borders. Older children find challenges here, while younger ones can romp, build dens and balance on tree trunks. Our qualified pedagogical staff create a warm, homely atmosphere. Children are given plenty of choice: they decide for themselves whether to play freely or join the activities we offer—think crafting in the studio, reading in the library, gardening in our vegetable patch or sporty games on the court. During school holidays we organise extra trips and themed days; holiday care can be booked by the full or half day and takes place at BSO De Kameleon in the centre of Oosterhout. Parents can put together their own package of before-school care (07.00 – school start), after-school care (school end – 18.30) and holiday care. If on a regular day only a few children are present, we combine the group with BSO De Beiaard; parents are always informed in advance.
