At Buitengewoon Kinderopvang Oldenzaal we provide small-scale, sustainable and professional daycare for children aged 0 to 4. Our setting is Landgoed Wolbert: green countryside on the edge of Oldenzaal, yet within walking distance of the Essen and Thij residential areas. Every day the children enjoy the freedom of outdoor life—playing in our own woodland playground, discovering how vegetables grow in the vegetable garden, caring for our chickens, rabbits and donkeys, and sharing adventures in the fresh air. We work in vertical groups, so children of different ages grow and learn together. Each child is given the time and calm they need; we follow your child’s individual pace and offer the warmth and security of a child-minder combined with the benefits of a professional daycare centre. Our qualified pedagogical staff provide personal attention and stimulate curiosity, self-confidence and social skills. Outdoor play is central. Our outdoor space offers a sand-pit, slide, trampoline, climbing and scrambling opportunities and, of course, our own woodland playground. Through outdoor play children develop their motor skills, learn to assess risk and discover the seasons and the life of plants and animals. Together with parents—whom we actively involve—we create a safe environment in which every child can be themselves and grow through play.
