BosKids is our after-school care (BSO) on the edge of the Woldberg, just outside Steenwijk. We are based at Tuks Theehuis, a unique spot that serves as our daily starting point for adventures in nature. Playing outdoors in the forest – who wouldn’t want that? Every day our children head out to explore the woods. We search for insects, climb trees and make full use of everything the Woldberg has to offer. One of the most popular activities is earning the ‘pocket-knife diploma’, through which children learn to use a knife safely and responsibly while engaging with the natural world around them. After school we first sit down together with fruit and a drink (tea, water or squash). The children share what has been on their minds that day and then choose what they would like to do and with whom. At BosKids, ‘coming home’ is just as important as adventurous discovery. Our BSO has room for up to 20 children. We work in one horizontal group: all children are in the same age range (4-12 years), so activities can be tailored precisely to their level. The location has been registered in the National Childcare Register since 31 January 2022 under number 820808854 and is supervised by GGD IJsselland. BosKids is part of Woldkasteel B.V., an organisation with many years of experience in providing pedagogically strong childcare in a homely environment.
