Welcome to Vrijland Amersfoort, the after-school care where your child plays outside almost all the time! We collect children after school from De Bolster, School op de Berg, Joost van den Vondelschool, ASV Daltonschool, Pallas Athene, Aloysiusschool, PWA Beekenstein, EBS de Parel and de Vlinderslag. With our covered cargo bikes we ride straight into nature and share the greatest adventures together. At Vrijland children play outside 99 % of the time—rain or shine. We explore sand drifts, build huts, make herb butter over a campfire and picnic under a tarp. When heavy rain, cold or thunder forces us inside we use classrooms, gyms or our children’s lab for games, sports and crafts with pine cones and other natural treasures. Our pedagogical professionals work with a maximum ratio of 1 adult to 8 children. Every day we provide organic fruit, vegetables, crackers and rice cakes from Het Lokaal; water and tea are always on hand. After an afternoon of free play and discovery our bikes bring the children home around dinner time, or you can pick them up at Aloysiusschool or Joost van den Vondelschool. Vrijland welcomes boys and girls aged 4 to 12. We stand for freedom, connection, resilience and positivity.
