Vivere Horatiusstraat

Vivere Horatiusstraat is the after-school care facility of Stichting Vivere Democratisch Onderwijs, located in the same building as our primary school at Horatiusstraat 50 in Rotterdam. We offer democratic after-school care for children aged 4 to 14. Our pedagogical approach is rooted in equality and self-direction, allowing children to decide how they want to spend their time after school. Our location has 110 places and is structured around age-mixed groups, where children of different ages share spaces and learn from and with each other. We use the CONSENT method and regularly hold circles where children help shape rules, activities, and the layout of the group. There is ample room for relaxation, play, and personal development, with attention to both quiet and active moments. Vivere works closely with the primary school in the same building, ensuring a smooth transition from school to after-school care. Children can join directly after school without extra travel time. Our pedagogical staff are trained in democratic education and provide tailored support, encouraging initiative and responsibility. We believe it is essential that children feel safe and heard. That’s why we invest in a warm, respectful atmosphere where every child can be themselves.
